NY-22: Another Run For Tenney?

From the Morning Memo:

On Monday morning, a source emailed what appeared to be a video promoting a comeback campaign for former Rep. Claudia Tenney, unseated last year in a closely watched House race by Democrat Anthony Brindisi.

An email to Tenney went unreturned as of Tuesday morning. But hours later, the video was deleted.

The video was also seen by The Daily News.

The video was largely biographical in nature: It showed Tenney driving through the district, talking about her mother and her son while striking a the theme that she’s willing to stand back up when knocked down.

Not mentioned in the video was President Donald Trump, who handily carried the district in 2016 and traveled there last year to fundraise for Tenney’s re-election bid. Trump’s political team also deployed his family members, including Donald Trump, Jr., to aid Tenney as the race drew national attention.

“This district has long turned the page on Claudia Tenney, who delivered for late night tv more than she ever did our hometown,” said Sarah Russell, a spokeswoman for Brindisi’s campaign.

“Anthony Brindisi is the kind of pragmatic, bipartisan problem solver the district appreciates and America could use more of. He’ll keep up his fight for middle-class families, but remains at-the-ready for a re-match against a kind of politics voters are, quite frankly, exhausted by.”
